December 2010

I didn't feel like doing the tree this year so I took the girls to the store and let them pick their own ornaments and do all the decorating!

 Karah!  I said smile silly!
 Good job girls!
Okay now Alyssa is acting silly!
 Karah Boo

Looks like the silly switch was flipped!

This is at our family Christmas Party.  This year we did it super early and at my sister's house instead of my moms.  It was fun!

 Brayden and Luke
 Karah

 Alyssa

 Fun cousins!

 I love these cuties!

Then Tyson went down the row and got each of their bums so they jumped up giggling

 My little sister's boys=mine!  ;)
Karah and Alyssa with Grandma T
 and with me

Listening to the scriptures before bed
 Alyssa after dance one day

This cracked me up!  Ashlee and I heard gigles coming from downstairs.  We looked and they were all hitting each other with these foam sticks.  They were laughing so hard!

This shows you how fast they were hitting!

I was so lucky and got to go see my cousin get sealed to her husband, her kids and her parents!  We braved the snow to drive to the Manti temple and I was so glad I could be there!  What a great day!

My girls!  After the session and the sealings, I picked my kids up at Uncle Mike & Suzy's house (THANKS SO MUCH FOR WATCHING THEM!) and I took them to the Manti Temple.  I promised them I would-they love temples!

Karah made a heart for me in the snow

I love that my girls love to touch the temple-they ask me all the time, can we go touch the temple?  Makes me chuckle!  Before we know it, they'll be going to the temple with me!
Zach, Jo, Bethany and Greg-thanks for the awesome day!
Randomly on the grounds someone had made these tiny snowmen all over.  Cute!
 Silly time!

I asked them to smile at me so they both turned around and played in the snow...they sure know how to listen!  lol

For our FHE activity one night, the girls made some more "ornaments" for the tree
Have I mentioned that the decorations this year do not have to match?  It's good to know because someone chose orange glass bulbs, someone else chose glittery striped bulbs, and by Christmas they had all kinds of things on the tree!  At least they had a good time!  It took a lot of me not caring to let them 'do their thing!'

The girls wanted clothes for their zhu zhu pets for Christmas.  In the mean time, they decided to dress them up themselves!  They are sporting very stylish dryer sheet, taffy wrapper, ribbon and pipe cleaners!

 Alyssa's toes
 Karah's toes
Some pictures I took of my new nativity set

Karah and Alyssa at Grandpa & Grandma Mettmann's house Christmas Eve morning
The girls with my dad  :)
Watching Barbie Nutcracker movie on the bean bag chair, which is on the couch and their picnic table.  Funny girls!  :)
Time to make cookies for Santa!

I put a glob of frosting on both of their plates to hopefully eliminate some of the mess...

They worked very hard on these cookies!

looks like we got a helper!
Nice Alyssa!  lol  Great place for frosting-thanks for showing me!
They are done!  I let them each pick one for Santa and we shared the rest.

Can you tell which ones Alyssa made?  The sprinkles don't give it away at all!  hehe
In their jammies ready for bed, being silly and putting up their stockings for Santa to fill.

Yes, these girls are mine!  I am so blessed!

I wonder where they get their silliness from!!  lol
I love this picture of us!

 Alyssa-Christmas Eve 2010

I was showing the girls example of what they usually are doing when I take pictures.  They were laughing so hard!
 April-Christmas Eve 2010

 Love my Boo!
 Love my Lys!
 even now!  haha

 The tree Christmas Eve 2010
 Cookies and milk
 Christmas Morning
Look, Santa came!  He ate the cookies, drank the milk, used the tags the girls left for him to use on each gift and wrote them a note!  What a good Santa! ;)
 present time!

For New Year's Eve, my girls and I went with Grandma T & Papa Howie to the Roof.  This has been Alyssa's 'favorite' restaurant since she was (barely) 3!  So funny!  Both girls love it here and so do I!

They thought it was a great idea to fill their noisemakers with confetti

Happy New Year to my favorite girls in the whole wide world!  I am so lucky to be your mom!  2011 will be great!

Super views from the Roof restaurant of the Salt Lake Temple!  Such a pretty & special place!
 Lys and the giant nutcracker
The Joseph Smith Memorial Building is so pretty!  When we were leaving, we saw there was a show in the lobby when the singers were done we took a seat and stayed for the polynesian dancers.  The girls loved watching them!  (I think they would love going to the Polynesian Cultural Center in Hawaii sometime! Someday!)  It was funny during the Maori dance, they were trying to scare/make Alyssa laugh since we were in the front row.  She would jump when they'd lunge at her but then she'd giggle!  It was a great night!

Now it's time for bed!  Goodnight 2010 welcome 2011!

Hey, April! I'm so glad to see you put up a post finally! *sigh* I've noticed your absence from here, hope things are going well for you~

Great pictures, too, but you always take great ones, that's par-for-course for your page here! :)

Take care, and please get on here more often, if only to let worrywarts like me know you're alright.

Still will always have a thank-you in my heart for your being so special to my older daughters at a particularly difficult time in our lives (when I was going through a divorce with their father) - you will always be an angel in my opinion!
