My silly girls Valentine's weekend

Alyssa colored a picture for me and Karah made a card for me at church today

Lots of hearts and flowers...love it!

Just so you know... This is Alyssa's cup! Don't try to drink out of it, don't touch it, don't even look at it...don't even think about it! She will let you know, it is HER cup! The reason she thinks it is her cup is my fault. At our Christmas party, I wrote names on the cups so we wouldn't have to keep getting new ones and washing them. Alyssa's was this pink cup and she knows what her name looks like... Even after the party, she insists it's hers. Why even try to argue with a three year old that water tastes exactly the same in a blue cup...

She really doesn't like the you get what you get and you don't throw a fit rule... It doesn't apply to her apparently! lol

Happy Valentine's Day girls! I love you!

I made pink french toast for dinner...

Did the whole drop a little valentine surprise at the door, ding the doorbell and (try to) run thing to which the girls were soo surprised! It was funny!

My mom and Howie gave me this awesome quote of a scripture I really like. It says "I will go before you, I will be on your right hand and on your left, my spirit shall be round about you to bear you up" D&C 84:88

My girls were so spoiled with this huge teddy bear they fell in love with at the store.

It's bigger than they are and it's now their new best friend!

2-6-10 surprise for Grams

January 31st was my Gram's 80th birthday so a bunch of my cousins, aunts & uncles thought we'd surprise her at the Jordan River Temple the beginning of Feb. We all showed up early for the session and waited in the chapel for her to walk in. She was so surprised and it was awesome to all be together that morning!

We wanted to get a group shot outside but several people had to leave directly after so we missed them...bummer! (The people in this picture are my aunt Marie, uncle Gary, cousin Janie & Matt, aunt Lisa & uncle Darrell, Grams, Howie, T, Me...not shown because they had to leave are my cousins Brian & Cheryl and Ashlee & Ty. Aunt Teresa & uncle Norman will notice earlier the expiration date on their recommends next time so they can come too. Poor things didn't notice till they were getting in the car to come! It soo easily could have been me...I had no idea what date mine said!)

After, we went to my mom's house for lunch...and to talk!

Later that night, Karah and Alyssa prepared a puppet show for me, Grandma T & Papa Howie.

some of our February crafts

I decided to make crayon shavings in Valentine's Day colors for our heart craft and then realized that the colors match the girl's rooms so we can hang them in their windows!

First, I sharpened a bunch of crayons. Then I put the ironing board on the ground, put newspaper on it and a strip of wax paper. I let the girls sprinkle the shavings on the wax paper then we covered them with another sheet of wax paper and ironed! They were thrilled to see the wax bubble up under the iron and thought it was soo cool. We set aside each sheet and let them dry. We cut out hearts, punched a hole in each and started hanging them up. It was lots of fun!

And another heart craft...a messier one though! (2-10-10) They were doing so well at keeping the glitter on the papers...I turned my back for a second to grab more hearts to decorate and Lys had dumped the bottle of red sprinkles on the table and then tried to brush it off with her hands!

You can't even tell but there was glitter everywhere!

I think this little craft time is just about done!

I took cereal boxes and cut out some hearts. The girls covered them in glue and poured sprinkles on them. After waiting forever for them to dry, we were able to hang them up! The girls love saying "I made that one and that one..." They were really sparkly and fun!
